After a killer year of packed out shows in Australia, New Zealand and a smash hit run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Tomás Ford is hitting the road again with his ridiculous Crap Music Rave Party.
If you haven't had the dubious pleasure, it's pretty easy to explain. No good music is allowed. All requests are welcome, so long as they’re crap. Tomás drops requests like the party weapon they aren’t and the dancefloor loses their minds.
It’s not just the brilliantly awful music that makes it a killer night; it’s a full-on spectacle including DIY rave video projections, balloons, hardware store disco lights, glowsticks and Tomás’ hyperactive DJ antics.
He returns to New Zealand for three raves following huge popular demand, hitting Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. Next year he will be touring his spy thriller comedy Chase! to the country’s fringe festivals, so keep an eye out for that - but in the meantime, he thought he’d do a run of parties as a birthday present to himself.
Struggling to think of a request? Get your brain thinking about stuff like 5ive, Tina Arena, Russian lesbian sisters, Barry Manilow, skate park dubstep, Britney Spears rapping in an English accent, Peter Andre, 80s movie themes, Limp Bizkit, Scandal'us, Savage Garden, Crazy Frog, Frankie saying Relax, Gangnam Style...
Bodega has packed out on both of Tomás' previous visits - this is the last party he'll be able to throw there before it closes, so come hit the dancefloor.
Look inside yourself: the crap music is there. So book a ticket. ;D
